Radio silence from date. Again I enjoyed the pleasure of everyone's awesome advice the night before.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Worth scrolling the comments for better advice and storytelling than a hybrid episode of Red Green and The View.

Anyhow. All for naught as no contact was returned at the appointed time and place. As I was sitting there, I was like "I should get a cat instead of putting up with this bullshit". And that seemed like a perfectly rational thing to do. A cat. Indoor/outdoor. Simple maintenance schedule. Self cleaning. Won't mind if you are honest about it getting fat.

Sigh.

Get a dog. Not a cat. The dog will love you, the cat will own you.

Have to follow up with the recommendation of a dog. Cats are deceitful and only care about themselves. Dogs are fucking loyal. My public speaking professor was divorced and had 4 dogs. The trick? Land, lots of it.. Good for cars, good for dogs, good for you. Like I said the other day if I wasn't with my wife it would be me, a garage, lots of cars and bikes, and lots of tools. I might make a loft space in the garage for a living area, maybe.

Relationships with pets are like ones with people: you get in return, at best, what you put in. I don't really find anything disloyal about my cats. They go outside for a while and come back for meals and sleep and generally follow me around everywhere I go. Yes, even after they have full stomachs. When I work on my cars, one of them always jumps in the cab and just purrs. They're not aloof and such because I give them a little necessary attention and so they reciprocate.

I don't know, I'm always very loving with my pets and have always felt like my dogs were more loyal. Part of this may be a result of digging up old photo albums to look at old cars and not expecting to see my dead dog. I miss him.

It is of course easy to say that I'm sorry about the no show, but that probably doesn't make you feel better. How about, better to find out they're a jackwagon now?

Don't really know what to say that will help, other than "you deserve better." :-(

Sorry it didn't work out this time.

You could always go the route that I went. One week I went on an actual date and it was horrible, then the next week I decided to just hook up with a guy via the Internet and ended up in a 6+ year relationship that is still going strong. Life is weird, that's what I'm trying to say.
